Changes in the Rules of Fire Safety Arrangements came into force

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev approved changes to the rules of the fire safety arrangements. The signed decree No. 1717 of December 30, 2017 amended the rules of the fire safety arrangements, which resulted in establishment of mandatory requirements for the owners of land plots located within the boundaries of populated areas, horticultural, gardening and dacha non-profit associations of citizens, for regular cleaning of garbage and grass mowing on land plots. There is also a ban on burning dry herbaceous vegetation, breeding fires, burning brushwood within the boundaries of the right-of-way and in waysides of automobile roads, protected zones of railways, overpasses and product pipelines.

Introduced changes prohibit cultivating the crops within the boundaries of the right-of-way and protected zones of railways, within the boundaries of the right-of-way and waysides of roads.

It is established that the owners of agricultural lands are obliged to take measures to protect agricultural lands from overgrowing weed vegetation, timely haymaking in hayfields.

The order of the maintenance of right-of-way zones and protected zones of the railways is established, providing clearing from crippled wood, felling residues and a bush, other combustible wastes. Measures of fire safety during operation in the field conditions of permanently installed harvesting units, cars during harvesting of agricultural products are determined.

The adopted changes will significantly increase the fire safety of settlements and minimize the probability of fire transition to the forest fund lands.
