Under such title, students of the school forestry "Green Patrol" conducted a lesson dedicated to the Day of Reserves and National Parks, which is celebrated annually on January 11. A day of the first state reserve of Russia formation - the Barguzinsky Reserve, located on the shore of Lake Baikal, was taken as the basis! Below is the short story about the origin of the first state reserve of Russia:

The merit of the pioneering explorers who studied the condition of the Siberian Territory was in the fact that basing on results of their research a Decree on the creation of protected areas was signed.

Since 1913, expeditions to Siberia have been organized, aimed at identifying the number of Barguzin sables. Its habitats were the western slopes of the Barguzinsky Range.

For two years, a group of scientists conducted very complex studies of the sable population, and the collected materials served as the basis for signing a document on the creation of a "state operation site". In December 1916, the Government of Russia approved this document. So the only state reserve of the country was created, established before the revolution of the year of 1917.

And only five people were monitoring the preservation of the natural zone and the reproduction of the sable population, which at the time of creation of the reserve were only 20-30 specimens.

During the lesson, students of the school forestry also told about the reserves of the Republic of Tatarstan: the National Park "Nizhnyaya Kama", the Sviyazhsk State Reserve, the Volga-Kama Reserve.

At the end of the event, the results were summed up and the children agreed that we are all responsible for nature and everyone's task is to protect it. After all, nature is one for ages!
