1.3 million new trees appeared within the framework of the “United Day of Forest Planting” campaign in Tatarstan

This year mass planting of trees takes place under the auspices of the Year of Volunteer in Russia. Today, residents of the republic took part in landscaping the territory of Tatarstan - planted 1.3 million new trees. Planting material, equipment and clothing were allocated by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. 20 thousand people took part in the environmental campaign, including representatives of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, prosecutors of the Republic of Tatarstan, all ministries, departments, teachers, students of educational institutions, volunteers and school forest districts, residents.

Volunteers greened the territory on the area of ​​more than 300 hectares. The central action took place at two sites of the Prigorodnyi forest district. 400 pieces of European spruce, small-leaved linden and mountain ash were planted in Kazan, in Vakhitovskiy Park, located between Lakes Nizhniy and Sredniy Kaban. Volunteers planted 40 thousand coniferous trees in Staroye Shigaleevo village of Pestrechinskiy district.

Also, a mass planting took place in all the forest areas of Tatarstan; the campaign in Naberezhnye Chelny, Elabuga, Bugulma, Buinsk, Bilyarsk, Mamadysh and Tetyushi attracted the greatest number of people.

It should be noted that in the framework of the spring campaign “Day of Forest Planting”, which was held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Rustam Minnikhanov, more than 2.5 million new trees were planted in over 600 hectares, 30 thousand inhabitants took part. Following the two spring and autumn campaigns, 3.8 million new trees were planted in the republic on the area of ​​900 hectares. Foresters and residents of the republic made such a huge contribution to the increase of forests of Tatarstan. The purpose of the campaign is to foster careful attitude to the forest, drawing attention to the issues of conservation, reproduction and augmentation of forest resources.
