Delegation from the Moscow region got acquainted with the work of the Forestry Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan

Today, a delegation from the Moscow region headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Forestry Committee of this region, Dmitry Kapitalinin, visited the Forestry Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan in Leskhoz village of Sabinskiy municipal district.

Members of the delegation inspected greenhouses, a hardening and growing area for seedlings, a refrigerated case for their storage and other premises of the Center, as well as a laboratory of micro-clonal vegetative propagation of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Educational and Experimental Sabinskiy Forestry Enterprise”. The explanations in the course of the inspection were given by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Emir Bedertdinov and the Director of the Forestry Selection and Seed Center Ruslan Gazizov.

For reference. Forestry Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan was commissioned in 2012. This complex is the largest automated nursery in Europe, where planting material with a closed root system is grown. The production capacity of the center is 12 million pieces of planting material with closed root system annually. The Center occupies an area of 11.3 hectares, in which 4 greenhouses, 13 growing fields, a cooling and storage room for seedlings, 2 warehouses, etc. are located. The center is equipped with modern equipment of the Swedish company BCC AB.

In 2018, 12 million units of planting material with closed root system, where 5 million pieces of seedlings of Scots pine (including 437 thousand pieces with improved hereditary properties), 2.7 million pieces of European spruce seedlings, 2.7 million pcs of Birch hanging, 0.9 million pcs of Siberian larches, 0.7 million pcs of Acacia were grown in the Center.
