Work on determination of plus trees of Siberian larch and European spruce started at the laboratory of Forest Selection and Seed Center of RT
Work on identifying plus trees of Siberian larch and European spruce in the territory of the republic's forest fund has started at the laboratory of micro-clonal vegetative propagation of the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Now, we are exploring areas of the Sabinskiy forest district” said Nail Khanov, Deputy Head of the laboratory. - After we planned visits to other forest districts. Also, according to the assignment, in vitro production of clones of these breeds is to be done”.
Along with this, the center continues to work on propagation of in vitro clones of triploid aspen. As you know, triploid aspen is highly resistant to fungal diseases, has high productivity, grows quickly and is resistant to climatic conditions. So, it is planned to bring the number of in vitro clones to 100 thousand pieces and plant them on the territory of Tatarstan.
