A meeting of the Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rais Gumerov, with the President of the Finnish company Kaukointernational Niles Iyrola was held at the Ministry. It was attended by the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Airat Shigapov, representatives of Kaukointernational in the Russian Federation Dmitry Shkolny, Sergey Masalov and others.
Opening the meeting, Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov acquainted those present with the state of forestry and the species composition of forests of the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, he said that the Ministry is interested in organizing aspen wood processing.
Further, the meeting participants discussed the possibilities of cooperation in organizing the processing of wood raw materials. Representatives of Kaukointernational also spoke about the available technologies for space monitoring of the state of the forest fund (inventory of forests, prevention of illegal logging, forest fires) and possibility of organizing internships for forestry workers in Tatarstan at enterprises and training centers in the Republic of Finland.
