Amendments in Rules of sanitary safety in forests

New revision of Rules of sanitary safety in forests, introduced by the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, was approved by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government No607 of  May 20, 2017.

The Rules were approved in a new version by signed decree for the purposes of improvement of forests protection regulation from pests and for bringing the regulatory legal acts in conformity with the Forest Code.

In a new version of Rules, in particular, a system of measures of sanitary safety in forests was extended, that was aimed at increasing of forests sustainability, main principles of planning and organization of events devoted to forests protection were determined.

A categories grade of trees state is introducing; in accordance with such grade an assessment of sanitary and forest pathology conditions of forests upon realization of sanitary safety measures will be made.

As well as, terms for storage of cut timber in forests by forest districts are set.

The decisions are focused on reduction of damages from adversity impact on forests and increasing of forest ecosystems sustainability.
