Federal Forestry Agency plans to construct Forest selective-seed centers in six regions, including the Republic of Tatarstan

Topical issues of reforestation including reforestation using closed root system were discussed within the framework of meeting held in the Arkhangelsk Region. First Deputy of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - E.N.Bedertdinov participated with working visit in the event. Renewed forest seed center located in the territory of Ustinskiy forest industry complex was presented to the foresters.

Federal Forestry Agency plans to construct forest selective-seed centers in six regions: the Republic of Tatarstan, the Altai Territory, the Arkhangelsk, the Voronezh, the Kostroma and the Leningrad Regions.

“At the earliest date, planting of ball-rooted seedlings will become of top-priority for the regions of Russia’ – noted Ivan Valentik – a Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation – Head of Federal Forestry Agency.

Creation of such forest selective-seed centers is connected inextricably with implementation of innovative technologies in the forest industry. They present high-technology industrial complexes for seed processing, production, storage, accelerated cultivation of forest ball-rooted seedlings on industrial scale under greenhouse conditions.
