Meeting on the results of work for the first quarter of 2018 was held in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan
A meeting on the results of work of all forest districts of Tatarstan for the first quarter of 2018, with the participation of specialists from the Ministry and leaders of forestry subordinate institutions was held under the leadership of Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Reports of Emir Bedertdinov, First Deputy Minister and Rais Gumerov, Deputy Minister, were heard at the meeting. The issues of preparation for a fire season and forest-cultivation works in 2018 were touched upon.
It was noted that the forest resources multiplication is one of the priorities for the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Through the efforts of Tatarstan foresters in 2017 reforestation activities were carried out on a total area of 2,815 hectares, including forest planting - 1,831 hectares, assistance to natural renewal - 948 hectares and combined reforestation - 36 hectares, which comprises 100% of the annual plan.
The meeting also touched upon the issues of timber harvesting, auctions holding, cadastral registration of forest fund lands, violations of forest legislation, in particular timber transportation without proper documentation and registration in the LesEGAIS system, as well as illegal logging.
The Minister, having heard the reports, assessed the work of the subordinated institutions with separate comments. Ravil Kuzyurov noted the need to improve the effectiveness of administrative measures for violations of forest legislation.
