October 30 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the first Minister of Forestry of the TASSR, Honored Forester of the TASSR Alexander Alexandrovich Gulyaev.

Alexander Gulyaev was born in the village Aksubaevo in 1920. After graduating from Aksubaevsky secondary school, in 1937 he entered the Kazan Pedagogical Institute. Two years later, at the call of the Komsomol, he joined the ranks of the navy and studied at the Leningrad Higher Naval School. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he was in the Black Sea Fleet, then in the Danube Flotilla. Freed Crimea and the Caucasus from German soldiers. In 1946 he returned to his native village and got a job at the Aksubaevsky forestry enterprise, at the same time entered the correspondence department of the Leningrad Forestry Academy, which he graduated with a “red” diploma.

In subsequent years, Alexander Gulyaev worked in the Aksubaevsky forestry enterprise as a senior forester, director. Due to his high professional qualities in 1959 he was transferred to Kazan to the post of chief forester, after which he was appointed head of the Tatar forestry department at the Glavleskhoz of the RSFSR. In 1979, in connection with the transformation of the management into a ministry, Alexander Gulyaev was appointed Minister of Forestry of the TASSR. In this position, he worked until 1984. The general work experience in the industry of Aleksandr Aleksandrovich is 38 years, including 25 years as the head of the forestry management body.

During the period of work of Alexander Gulyaev as the Minister of Forestry of the TASSR, a significant breakthrough was made in the development of the forest industry. In particular, the rational use of forest resources, deciduous, small-scale timber, sawmilling and woodworking waste began. Measures were taken for the protection, protection and reproduction of forests, strengthening their protective functions, increasing their productivity, as well as a large amount of work on protective afforestation.

In those years, machines and mechanisms were introduced into forestry production to reduce the labor intensity of work. Since 1968, work has begun on the greening of cities and towns of the republic.

Alexander Gulyaev paid much attention to the issues of forest protection. During the period of its activity, illegal logging decreased, the number and area of ​​forest fires decreased, the organization of fire-chemical stations in forestry enterprises began, equipping them with fire-fighting equipment, tools and equipment.
