This year, in the Republic of Tatarstan, after an inventory, forest plantations were transferred to the category of valuable tree plantations on an area of 1364 hectares.
“In a professional language, forest plantations were transferred to a forested area,” said Timur Galiev, head of the reforestation and afforestation department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. “This was preceded by a large-scale work - the collection of seeds, the cultivation, and planting of seedlings, and agrotechnical care. The next stage is silvicultural care for 15 years.”
“Forest crops that meet certain requirements are transferred to this category. The quality of plantings is assessed by the number of trees per hectare, their height, and overall condition,” added Timur Galiyev.
