The territory of Russian-German Switzerland was cleared out from garbage and landscaped

Last Saturday, within the framework of "A Week of Forest" campaign, 5 thousand coniferous trees were planted and the territory of Russian-German Switzerland was cleared of solid household waste in the Vakhitovsky district of the city of Kazan. Employees of the Ministry and subordinated institutions, the republic's pension fund, students of the Forestry Faculty of Kazan Agrarian University, schoolchildren of school No. 181 of the city of Kazan took part in the campaign.

The Human Rights Defender in the Republic of Tatarstan, Sariya Kharisovna Saburskaya also planted her own tree. "Environmental safety is very important for our population. This campaign, held annually in Tatarstan, allows solving environmental problems and participation of the population in such events - an important component in preserving our ecology", said S.Kh. Saburskaya.

The acting Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Emir Nurtdinovich Bedertdinov, in his speech to the media, noted that this event is the highlight of "A Week of Forest" environmental oriented campaign, during which 1 million young trees were planted in Tatarstan on a total area of 350 hectares, 60 tons of solid waste were scavenged, 300 cubic meters of dead and fallen trees were collected. "Environmental protection actions are aimed at development of a careful attitude to nature, forest, attracting public attention to the problems of conservation, reproduction and augmentation of forest resources. I would like to thank everyone who joined the environmental campaigns - it's more than 30 thousand people of the republic", said E.N. Bedertdinov.

It is also worth noting that the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan is holding an environmental action "Clean forests of Tatarstan" since September 15, and it will last until November 15.
