Sowing of conifer seeds second rotation started in the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan
Today, the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan started sowing the second rotation of conifer seeds. In total, it is planned to sow 3 million pieces of pine seeds and 1 million pieces of larch seeds. More than 20 people are involved in the work.
Earlier this year, 3 million pieces of spruce seeds and 1 million pieces of pine seeds were planted in the FSSC of the RT. Now small seedlings are brought to the fields of growing, where they will grow until the autumn period.
For reference. The Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, located in Leskhoz village of Sabinskiy district, was commissioned in 2012. This complex is the largest automated nursery in Europe, where planting material with a closed root system is grown. Production capacity of the center is 12 million pieces of planting material with closed root system per year. The plant occupies an area of 11.3 hectares, on which 4 greenhouses, 13 growing fields, a cooling and storage room for seedlings, 2 warehouses, etc. are located. The center is equipped with modern equipment of the Swedish company VSS AB.
