The Department of Forestry in the Volga Federal District discussed the issues of fire safety in forests and reforestation in 2019

Today a meeting in the form of a video conference on coordination of activities to extinguish forest fires and reforestation in 2019 was held at the Department of Forestry in the Volga Federal District. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Department Sergey Kovalev.

The event was attended by representatives of the forest authorities of the Volga Federal District, including from the Republic of Tatarstan - First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, Head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Forest Planting of the Ministry Timur Galiyev, Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” Aidar Gaifullin

During the meeting, Sergey Kovalev informed the meeting participants about fire hazard classes in the regions of the Volga Federal District. He called on the representatives of the regions to strengthen control over provision of fire safety in forests, to pay particular attention to monitoring the fire hazardous situation and to complete measures for the fire protection of forests.

Along with this, Sergey Kovalev dwelled on the issues of reforestation in 2019. In particular, he noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is among the leaders among the regions of the Volga Federal District in terms of the performance of reforestation works – currently it is carried out on the area of ​​2,315 hectares (93% of the plan). The republic has completed planting of forest crops on the area of ​​1,729 hectares, afforestation on 166 hectares and combined reforestation on 34 hectares.
