Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan completed the implementation of the “From Paper to Digital” project
The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan has completed implementation of the “From Paper to Digital” project on digitizing archival documents. The project was implemented with the help of a grant received for first place in the competition “The Best Archive of a Non-Profit Organization and Public Authority - the Source of Acquisition of the State (Municipal) Archive of the Republic of Tatarstan”. The competition was held by the RT State Committee for Archives at the end of 2018.
“Within the framework of the project, the premises were repaired, where the new archive is now located, shelves and scanners were purchased, and 178 thousand sheets of archival documents were digitized. These are the so-called permanent storage cases from 2008 to 2014, said Ekaterina Rumshevich, a Leading Specialist of the Department of Organizational Work at the Ministry. - We are grateful to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov and the RT State Committee for Archives for holding such a competition and the opportunity for us to create an electronic fund of use. This will ensure safety of our archival documents and increase the speed of access to information”.
According to Ekaterina Rumshevich, for the coming period, it is planned to carry out work on the digitization of archival documents for 2015-2016.
