Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov: “The movement of school forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan is gaining more and more popularity every year”
Today, on the basis of GBPOU “Lubyansky Forestry College” in the village of Lubyany, Kukmorsky Municipal District, the official opening ceremony of the V Meeting of School Forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan “Digital Forest” was held. It was attended by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Stanislav Andreev, head of the municipal district Sergey Dimitriev, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry and Ecology of the Kazan State Agrarian University Renat Gafiyatov and Professor of the Department of Forestry and Forest Crops Kharis Musin.
“The movement of school forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan is gaining more and more popularity every year. Over the past 5 years, the number of such associations has increased by 66 and reached 114, more than 1,500 students are involved,” said the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov. “You are purposeful, positive and creative guys who are not indifferent to the issues of ecology and environmental protection. I thank each of you for your active participation in environmental campaigns, the implementation of various environmental projects and the ongoing propaganda aimed at developing a caring attitude towards the forest. I wish all the participants of the rally success, new victories and achievements.”
The head of the Kukmorsky municipal district, Sergey Dimitriev, noted that this year the rally is being held for the fifth anniversary. “Children in school forestries have a unique opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in the field of forestry and ecology,” he stressed. “But the most important thing is that you understand how important it is to protect the forest. Good luck to everyone, may the best man win.”
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Stanislav Andreev congratulated those present on the opening of the rally. “Today you are assistants to our foresters, but tomorrow you will join their ranks. Despite the holidays, you are here, at this site, doing important and informative work,” said Stanislav Andreev, addressing the students. “I am sure that everything will work out for you, and in the future you will become true patriots of our beautiful republic and our great country.”
The honor to raise the flag of the competition fell to the winners of the IV Meeting of school forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan - pupils of the school forestry “Nurgali onyklary” of the MBOU “Leskhozsky secondary school” of the Sabinsky district.
After the opening of the rally, the main competition “Young Foresters” was held. Students developed an information booklet and completed a number of practical tasks in the areas of “Botany and Dendrology”, “Taxation”, “Protection of Forests”, “Reforestation and Afforestation”, “Geodesy”, “Fire Fighting” and “Machines and Mechanisms in Forestry”. The students demonstrated their knowledge of trees and shrubs growing in the Republic of Tatarstan, methods and technologies for planting seedlings and saplings, equipment used in forestry, as well as teamwork skills, orienteering in the forest, overcoming obstacles, taxation and extinguishing forest fires. The difference in 2022 was that almost all practical tasks were transferred to digital format.
The results will be summed up and the winners of the V Meeting of school forestries of the Republic of Tatarstan “Digital Forest” will be awarded tomorrow, July 29.
